What Is Fiber Laser Scan Head

Fiber laser scan head, also known as optical fiber galvanometer, is a two-axis galvanometer composed of a semiconductor laser and a high-precision galvanometer mirror. It is an important part of laser marking, cutting and welding system.

Fiber laser scan heads can be divided into four categories: cube galvanometers, single-axis galvanometers, double-axis galvanometers and polygonal scan heads. The cube galvanometer is the most commonly used in laser marking machines, and the separate polygonal scan heads are used for laser cutting machines.

The characteristics of the fiber laser scan heads are flexible structure, efficient response and high resolution. Smaller models of the fiber laser scan heads provide a dot pitch of up to 20 microns and a dynamic focus of up to 5A/ms. Common application areas include glass etching, copper welding and metal processing.

In terms of laser galvanometers, Sino-Galvo's SG7110 model has outstanding advantages. This is a dynamic double-axis galvanometer with small size and high efficiency, which can be stably used in a wide range of temperature environments. This model’ step response time(1% of full scale) is 350us. It has a marking speed of up to 5000 mm/s and a writing speed of up to 450cps. In addition, its positioning speed is 8000mm/s and the linearity is 99.9%. Therefore, the Sino-Galvo SG7110 model can be used in laser marking.
