Sino-Galvo Tech. often encounters many customers to buy a 3x, 5x, 6x beam expander. They said that the 6x beam expander has thin lines, and the 3x beam expander is deep, but they were not consider many things comprehensively. It is one part of performance is met at the expense of another.Below we will explain in detail to you a few things to be aware of when choosing a beam expander.

2. What is the beam diameter of your laser source?
3. What is the input diameter of your F-theta lens?
Generally speaking, we use 50s semiconductor laser module, chose a 3mm laser rod, then the laser spot reflected is 3mm. The spot of the galvanometer that we generally use is 12mm. In this case, we choose 12 divided by 3-- 4X beam expander is more appropriate.
But everyone knows that the quality of the light rectified with a high magnification beam expander is better, and the lines printed are relatively thin, so many equipment manufacturers want to choose a 5x or 6x beam expander. But let's count, 3mm outgoing light, 3 times 5 equals 15mm spot, 3 times 6 equals 18mm spot. If our galvanometer has 12 spots, after the light from the beam expander enters the galvanometer, only 12 spots of laser light will be reflected on the f-theta lens. In other words, you have a 3mm or 6mm laser that has been missed. That means that the laser actually loses 25% or 33% more energy. This number is very large. In this case, although the lines we make are thin, they will be very shallow.

Some people may say, why not choose a 20mm galvanometer? What will happen? Use a 20mm galvanometer. The light from the beam expander can be completely reflected onto the f-theta lens, but have you thought about a problem? Our f-theta lens is generally designed with an incident light spot of 12mm, and the light you emit from the galvanometer is 15 or 18mm, but our f-theta lens can only be applied to 12 light spots, and the result is not good.

Then some people say,it can choose a f-theta lens with incident light designed to be 20 spots, yes, you can achieve good results. But when you count the money you need to purchase these accessories at this time, you can find that the 20mm galvanometer is nearly a thousand yuan or more expensive than the 12mm, and the 20mm f-theta lens is 1,000 yuan or more expensive, plus beam expanders are also slightly more expensive, so the total price is estimated to be more than 2,000 yuan. Now the market spell is the price,if one machine spend more than 2,000 on these items, then the price advantage of machine is very poor. Will those customers who only pay attention to price but not quality buy your machine? The answer is no!
So that's some advice on how to select a beam expander and hoping to be helpful to you.
